Allergic to iPad? Do not stay at The Plaza Hotel in New York City! Every room has one, you see, and the entire 5-star stay would most likely be ruined by your sour mood!
For those of you with plenty of dough and an insatiable lust for these 10-inch tablets, however, here's some additional info on the custom app the Plaza Hotel has installed on each of networked wonder pads:
Replacing an older touch panel, the new app allows guests to control lights in the room, change their heat and air conditioning systems, order room service, make restaurant reservations, request wake up calls, communicate with the concierge, and even print boarding passes. According to the general manager of the hotel, their previous system, "wasn't sophisticated enough for what we wanted to do" and they " chose the iPad because it is a great piece of equipment that is here to stay and won't disappear tomorrow." - BGR

Can't wait to try it out. It's really inexpensive to stay there, right? [Luxist via BGR]
