In other news, Jawbone is also opening up its API to third party developers for cross-app pollination. Version 2.5 of the iOS UP app, now includes 10 integrated services from IFTTT, LoseIt!, Maxwell Health, MapMyFitness, MyFitnessPal, Notch, RunKeeper, Sleepio, Wello and Withings for now. Once you connect the UP app with another, anything you do on one will be synced with the other. Others in the space, like Fitbit, have had this interoperability for some time.

Most intriguing is the IFTTT partnership, which allows you to set up a simple "if this then that" scenario for extra motivation. Skies the limit on what you can come up with, really. Take, for example, this:

This is VERY VERY good news. The app of Jawbone Up has been really holding this device back. I was almost ready to just give up on the Up since I wasn't expecting any updates or new features. This is very welcome news to me.
