Why she rules: Oppewall has been nominated for an Oscar four times, for her work on LA Confidential, Pleasantville, Seabiscuit, and The Good Shepherd. She’s also worked on the techno-thrillerish The Sum Of All Fears as a designer. And she did art design for 1982’s Cat People!
What she’s working on: M. Night Shyamalan’s weird apocalyptic movie The Happening, and the new Neon Genesis Evangelion project, about battle mechas in a post-apocalyptic world. We couldn’t be happier to see Evangelion in such good hands.
