Star Wars might bring people from across the world together, but sadly it couldn’t get John Boyega a date.
While chatting on The Graham Norton Show, Boyega shared details about a bad dating experience he had right before the release of The Force Awakens. Boyega said his friend Orlando Bloom (who was on the show with him) advised him to “try and secure the love of your life” before the movie came out, because otherwise, it might be harder to make a real connection. So, that’s what he did. He went on a date with a woman in New York without telling her who he was. Sadly, once the Kowakian monkey-lizard was out of the bag, things didn’t go too well.
“She didn’t know what I did until we were driving through Times Square. She goes ‘What do you do for a living?’ [I] looked up and I said, ‘That.’ It was me over a lightsaber,” Boyega said (picture above for reference).
Apparently, finding out Boyega was starring in the new Star Wars film “affected her stance,” and things ended badly— so much so that Boyega blocked her on his phone. But it’s not all bad, at least Finn and Poe shippers can rest easy knowing he might still be available.
