Media design firm KDLAB has a vision for the future iPod. The iSpec is both an audio and video player housed in glasses. The interface is seen by looking through the lenses and media files are navigated using two finger mounted controls.
Neither of these concepts are terribly original, what’s novel is their combination. I love the Minority Report style of zooming through file names. The idea of watching movies in glasses has no appeal to me, though. Candy factor aside, do you really need hands free access to your music and video? Pulling out the iPod to change tracks isn’t that big of a deal, and watching movies is generally a sedentary activity.
Care to comment? What should be in a personal a/v player by the year 2010?
