Everything USB has a review of the Keyspan USB Server, a $120 device that lets you share other USB devices over a network. It was designed specifically for printers and scanners, although other USB devices have a fair chance of working, depending on what they are (mice and keyboards are fine, if relatively useless, but USB hubs and A/V products won’t work). It’s aiming for an odd niche; offices that need to share USB printers over Ethernet, but can’t afford Ethernet-enabled printers. Sounds unlikely, maybe, but $120 isn’t a lot of money to cough up to turn a USB printer you’ve already bought into a shared network device.
