Jessica Jones, our fave badass private eye, is set to make a comeback and join the Disney+ Marvel street-level hero roster. Variety reports that Krysten Ritter (Sonic The Hedgehog 3) has officially signed on to reprise her role on Daredevil: Born Again season two.
The news marks more of the Netflix Defenders squad, plus the Punisher, moving into the mouse house on the streaming platform as part of Marvel Television proper. The trade covered the announcement from NYC today at Disney’s upfront presentation, where Ritter joined Daredevil star Charlie Cox on stage for the big reveal. Ritter shared, “It’s so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders and now joining the MCU.”
She continued and teased the capacity the detective would play in the series currently in production: “I’m so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!”
The actress portrayed hero for three seasons of the Jessica Jones standalone show and appeared on The Defenders on Netflix. The comic-book detective has had a lot of crossovers with other Marvel heroes so it will be interesting to see what brings her to Hell’s Kitchen to work with Matt again.
