Kyocera’s new Kurv cellphone has a 65,000 color screen, integrated digital camera, an MP3 player, and a built-in FM radio. But the main selling point is that the Kurv has swappable “Smart Skin” faceplates, and to demo the product they just happened to pick one that features those two blonde twins from the Coors Light commercials. (It’s a pretty good indication that an electronics manufacturer is getting desperate when they feel the need to put pictures of scantily clad women on the gadget itself.) The “Smart Skin” idea itself isn’t so bad – each skin includes different graphics, ringtones, software applications, and screensavers to match its theme. You could even swap between a respectable skin for your work and more salacious skin for your after-hours activities.
