io9 is looking for interns who are obsessed with science fiction and/or science. An intern works 5 – 10 hours per week doing research, fact-checking, and contacting sources in the science and entertainment industries for story ideas and information. Some writing may be involved too, depending on experience. You must be detail-oriented, very familiar with science and/or science fiction, and able to work quickly. Photoshop and graphic design skills are a plus.
Day-to-day, the job involves seeking out story ideas and helping editors gather more data for stories they’re working on. This is an unpaid internship. Send us your resume, and URLs for three samples of your writing by September 15.
