That Lego Space Shuttle Adventure nerdgasm we talked about yesterday has a companion video, wherein Creative Lead Simon Kent talks about how this true Lego collectible came to be.

The coolest feature for me was also the hardest for designer Steen Sig Andersen to implement: The spring-loaded landing gear (which make the shuttle tilt forward just like the real thing).
All in all a cool look into how a Lego model gets created. Seeing the completed set next to Kent during the interview also gives a good sense of scale and sturdiness—those 1,024 pieces really stack up into something quite large. [Brothers Brick]
