I still like this Lego fan model more than the latest official Lego rendition of the Rebel Alliance’s X-Wing, but I have to admit that I loved both to build and admire the final result.

The 560-piece, $60 Star Wars set uses some clever techniques and the final look is very good. The wings, of course, go from folder to X position with a simple mechanism. Plus, it includes two minifigs (Luke and Porkins) and two astromechs, including R2-D2.
I just wish that the engines had more work and pieces on it, but that’s just me being Lego anal. If you are a fan of Star Wars, you will love this thing. [Amazon and Lego Store]
