Let's be real. We're not very optimistic about the Poltergeist remake. That being said, we like the cast and we're trying (very hard) to be patient. So when the first ever pictures from the remake dropped we couldn't help but compare and contrast. Here we go!
Thanks to USA Today, we now have a collection of images from the new Poltergeist movie directed by Gil Kenan (Monster House, City of Ember). We've already said what we had to say about the "more of a kids" remake of this classic horror film, but now it's time to take a look at the actual images, and unfairly compare them with the original.
2015:
If you have to cast someone to replace "cool parents" Craig T. Nelson and JoBeth Williams, Sam Rockwell and Rosemarie DeWitt are pretty good choices. That being said, we hope the new film isn't afraid to being out the Coach's amazing sweater along with the night they both smoke pot on their bed and read books about Reagan.
1985:
2015:
Now with double the hands! Actually very spooky, snaps for 2015 version.
1982:
Cartoon ghost hand, classic.
2015:
Scary clown resting face.
1982:
Obviously this is the clown in beast mode, so we haven't seen the worst from the 2015 clown yet.
Honestly, you can't judge a movie by a few stills., but we're sure as shit going to try. Also someone must scream, "YOU ONLY MOVED THE HEADSTONES, WHYYYY WHYYYYY" or we're walking.
