Logitech Harmony Remote 688 Reviewed

As the editor of the world’s largest non-pornographic gadgets weblog, I try to be wary of reviews that are just thinly-veiled product descriptions, and I have to admit: something from “RemoteShoppe.com,” didn’t bode well. But when I got to the bottom of his review of the Logitech Harmony Remote 688, there was just the normal Amazon links and such—I don’t think he’s a shoppe, ye olde or otherwise, at all.

And he likes that 688 remote, for sure, raving about its easy setup program, extremely friendly user interface (that will even walk you through some troubleshooting steps via a ‘Help’ button), and a wide-ranging catalog of home entertainment equipment that makes it capable of controlling the a huge portion of the common equipment you’ll likely own. On the down side, the buttons are cramped and small and cluttered. I noticed that at DigitalLife, where I first saw it. It doesn’t exactly have that ‘pick up with instant understanding’ feeling you want out of a remote.
