Apple Insider has brought up some more news about the potential of having an iPod dock integrated into the next line of Mac Minis. According to sources the dock plans have been scrapped just weeks before production begins on the next wave of Minis. There are a couple possible explanations on why the plan was scrapped. Currently, docks sell at $40 each which is a significant amount of revenue that would be hindered by integrating docks into the Mini. Also integrating a dock would put more restraint on further development of iPod technologies because consumers would less likely want to upgrade if their Mini dock doesn t support the next generation of iPods. Oh well. A PVR Mini with dock connection for transfer to an iPod video would be extremely sexy, but it probably won't happen, at least not in the near future.
