The new 17-inch model of the MacBook Pro just popped up on the Apple Store this morning. $2,799 will get you 2.16GHz Intel Core Duo processors, 1680×1050 screen resolution, 1GB (single SODIMM) 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM, a 120GB 5400-rpm Serial ATA hard drive, a 8x double-layer SuperDrive, and an ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 with 256MB GDDR3 memory. It has three USB 2.0 ports compared to the two on the 15″ MacBook Pro models, a FireWire 400 port and yes, the FireWire 800 port we’ve all been complaining about the 15″ not having.
