Mad Beats on your Palm/Treo

If you’ve dreamt of laying down beats on your Treo, listen up: an update to the Palm favorite BeatPad from miniMusic could make handheld musicians very happy indeed. There’s now a built-in instrument that works with many higher-in Palms (including the Treos) so you hear high-quality sounds instead of beeps, and the software now exports your grooves as standard MIDI files that work with your desktop music software. Tap a sick beat on the road, then pop it into a high-quality track at home. A newly-announced $70 bundle includes notation and sequencing, too.
