Noise isolating in-ear headphones are pretty popular (especially since I can use them in tandem with my iPod to block out the unwanted sounds of New York City) but they’re also fairly expensive. So why not avoid paying hundreds of dollars and make your own? That’s the spirit!

To make your very own in-ear headphones that match the unique shape of your ear, you’ll need to head to the arts and crafts store to pick up some expoxy. (Oh, and supply your own earbuds; this how-to is just how to make the molds where you’ll place the earbuds.) From there, it’s just a matter of gunking up your ears with the epoxy, letting it harden then drilling holes in the epoxy for the earbuds. Not bad, especially when you consider that you’re only spending around $20.
