A few months ago at C2E2, Marvel announced a prequel comic tie-in for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story… a prequel-prequel, if you will. But now, reports are circulating that the comic might not be happening after all.

Comicbook.com claims that preorders of the series and its accompanying one-shot comic are being cancelled, with Amazon allegedly sending out notices that preorders are no longer able to be fulfilled, indicating that the book has either been postponed or cancelled.

There have been scant few details on the series—no art, creative team, or even a tentative release date were revealed at C2E2, just the comic’s existence—other than the fact it would be set before Rogue One. Considering it would still be at least another four months away from its release, the lack of information was not too surprising. But given how early on the project seemed to be when it was announced, it’s hard to say anything either way—especially with nebulous reports like this.

We’ve reached out to Marvel to clarify the situation with the Rogue One comic, but have yet to hear back at the time of publishing. We will update this article if we hear from them.
