Fresh from the pages of the 1957 FAO Schwartz Toy Store catalog comes Susie Robette. “The first female robot is, as might be expected, a fastidious housekeeper. She sweeps, dusts and vacuums” and through it all remains “feminine enough to wear a pony tail of coppered wire.” Thank goodness. I mean, what girl wants to play with a robot that’s all, like, scientific and stuff?
