Meet the Literal ‘Lower Class’ in the Newest High-Rise Trailer

So far, the High-Rise trailers have given us a lot of style but very little substance. Finally, we have a trailer where we see exactly where the discontent inside the titular building comes from—as well as the violence which ensues.

And while the seething resentment of the lower floors/lower classes is very obviously expressed here, so is Laing’s (Tom Hiddleston) ennui. As in every trailer, we get Laing’s inner life as told by Hiddleston reading the J.G. Ballard book the movie is based on.

Oh, and this is the first significant time we’ve spent with the architect, Anthony Royal (Jeremy Irons). His tired delivery of “Probably” to “Is that a horse?” is the highlight of the trailer.
