Apple Insider reports that other than a few minor cosmetic modifications, the new Mac Pro case is going look identical to the old case. Good for people who enjoy the cheese-grater aluminum design, bad for neophiliacs who want a new case just for its own sake.

The rumored specs for the three models of Mac Pro configurations start at a Dual-Core 2GHz Intel Xeon and go up to a 2.66 GHz Intel Xeon. There's 4MB of shared L2 cache, 1.333 GHz system bus and an ATI Radio X1800 GTO with 256MB of GDDR3 video RAM.

Rumors are the lowest priced Mac Pro will be $1,799. We don't know about you, but to us that price sounds a little low for this to be an Apple desktop, seeing as the lowest current Power Mac is $1,999.
