One of the best parts about CES is all the weird, no-name stuff you see there:
We actually saw this portable DVD player with a rotating screen in more than one booth, but we still couldn’t figure out who actually makes it.
A digital picture frame from SoyoCom, though the screen on this one was so bad that we’d be embarrassed to have anyone look at our photos on it.
A breathalyzer on a keychain from Seju Engineering Co. If this thing flashes red you are in big trouble.
Pixa and DVOne had a booth full of great looking stuff like this progressive DVD player that also supports DivX and MPEG4 video files and this DVD recorder with a wireless surround sound system. Oddly enough, no one at the company would reveal to us where their electronics are actually built, and when pressed, the marketing rep said that there were “legal reasons” why he couldn’t tell us. Whatever.
We also saw a TON of MP3 players. Way too many. People are going to be giving these things away for free by the end of the year.
NHJ Limited claims that the Che-ez! X-10ii is the world’s slimmest two megapixel digital camera.
A GPRS wireless modem from Solomon Technology that connects to a PC’s USB port.
