Some more details on MiTAC’s forthcoming Mio 8390 cellphone, a slimmed-down successor to their Mio 8380 handset, and their second phone running Microsoft’s Smartphone operating system. When it comes out, the Mio 8390 will run the new 2003 version of Smartphone, and have tri-band GSM/GPRS (so it’ll work in the US), a built-in digital camera (which can record video), a 200MHz processor, and a 65,000 color display. Like the Mio 8380, the 8390 probably won’t be released here in the US, but with its built-in digital camera and newer version of the Smartphone OS, it definitely looks better than Motorola’s MPx200 Smartphone which is due out here next month.
