Amid rumors that Motorola may spin off the handset division into its own company, CEO Greg Brown has announced he will be taking control of the unit in an effort to remedy its poor performance. ...or they'll just re-release the Razr. Unless this "control" involves releasing new designs, improving the UI, and putting the Q on a diet, I'm not all that hopeful. My guess is that he'll release a low-end Razr and try to cut costs in all the important areas like R&D.
I seriously wonder who'd been getting paid six to seven figures to come up with the idea of re-releasing the Razr and maintaining the exact same poor UI they had four years ago.
