Motorola is accusing rival Huawei Technologies of conspiring with former employees to steal trade secrets, and it sounds like they’ve got a pretty good case.
Motorola claims that a staff engineer shared data regarding a new transceiver (among other Motorola tech) with the founder of Huawei. Documents detailing Motorola product specs and labeled as “confidential” were recovered in e-mail correspondence from the engineer’s computer. Huawei could have begun receiving intel as early as 2001. [Business Week]
