Anyone who has visited Gizmodo HQ will know why we’re posting about this: a study sponsored by NEC, ATI, and the University of Utah touting the productivity benefits of having multiple monitors connected to your PC. Normally we’d be somewhat suspect of a study like this, given that NEC (which makes monitors) and ATI (which makes video cards that make it possible to attach multiple monitors) both have a vested interest in having a study come out that encourages people to buy second monitors, but we’ve been using a dual-monitor setup for a while now and can attest to how incredibly useful it is to have all that extra real estate.
