The new season of Twin Peaks will pick up 25 years after the show left off, but what happened to the denizens of Washington’s weirdest town in the interim? An upcoming book by Twin Peaks co-creator Mark Frost will reveal all—or at least as much as Twin Peaks ever reveals.

The Wrap is reporting that Flatiron Books, a subsidiary of Macmillan, will release Frost’s book, The Secret Lives of Twin Peaks, in late 2015, before the new season airs on Showtime. The novel “reveals what has happened to the people of that iconic fictional town since we last saw them 25 years ago” and provides “a deeper glimpse into the central mystery that was only touched on by the original series.”

Interesting. This won’t be the first Twin Peaks tie-in book. Frost’s brother Scott wrote The Autobiography of F.B.I. Special Agent Dale Cooper: My Life, My Tapes and Jennifer Lynch, daughter of Twin Peaks co-creator David Lynch, wrote The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer. But I suspect that, given the content and publication date, this book will be marketed as required reading to catch us up before Twin Peaks starts up again on TV.
