The 7610 isn’t the only new thing that Nokia will be showing at CeBIT. They’ve also unveiled today some new accessories that can be used across their entire product line.
The Nokia Image Album PD-1 is a 20GB image station that allows you to transfer images from your phone or camera for display on your TV. You know, for those times the family gathers around the TV to look at phonecam pictures. Read
The Nokia Image Viewer SU-5, which is similar to the Image Album, but without the harddrive and wireless options (pictures are transferred only from MMC card). This is for pictures you want to show your family, but never have come back to haunt you. Read
Nokia’s new Advanced Car Kit, with all the standard hands-free tricks, as well as ‘Ignition sense dectection’ (for automatic handsfree activation). It looks to be compatible with most of Nokia’s Bluetooth phones, even the ugly ones, which I think is very sweet of them. Read
Also in the handsfree category is the Headrest Handsfree, which mounts onto the back of most cars’ seats, presumably offering better vocal clarity over regular handsfree microphones. Perfect for parents with grabby toddlers or people in violent, head-tossing accidents. Read
And finally, in Nokia’s continuing quest to become more than ‘the cellphone company,’ is the 260T Mediamaster, a digital cable receiver with PVR functions, as well as an Xbox-esque rounded top which makes it suitable for never stacking in a cabinet, ever. At this rate all these set-top boxes should just be perfectly spherical, and we can store them over our TVs in a big mesh bag, like we do gym balls, or babies. Read
