If you’re a fan of Nothing’s Headphone 1, you may want to keep your eyes peeled this month. According to a leak from Dealabs, Nothing has a sequel of sorts in the works for its Headphone 1, this time opting for “Pro” branding.
Dealabs says the Headphone 1 Pro will have a few upgrades over its predecessor, including a new driver array. While the Headphone 1 has two 40mm dynamic drivers, leaks suggest that the Headphone Pro will have three drivers dedicated to bass precision and treble. More isn’t always better, but in this case, it could build upon what’s already a solid-sounding pair of wireless headphones.
Leaks also suggest a major upgrade in the microphone department. This time around, there appear to be 10 mics instead of six. More mics could improve call quality, which lots of wireless headphones need, in my opinion. It could also mean better adaptive active noise cancellation (ANC), since microphones are also used for assessing the sound in your environment. Either way, the possibility for more microphones is a good sign.
Outside of those improvements, the Headphone 1 Pro appear to retain quite a few things that made the original interesting. The build is reportedly aluminum and glass, and there are physical controls that (I’m hoping) are similar to the nifty pill-shaped roller and paddle used on the original. This pair of wireless headphones will, according to this leak, look and feel more premium than the Headphone A.
One thing that might not be the same, however, is the price. According to Dealabs, the Headphone 1 Pro is slated to be available in two colors (white and black) and may also see a $100 price increase over the original, jumping from $299 to $399. I’m sure there’s still quite a bit we don’t know about the Headphone 1 Pro, but fortunately we may not have to wait long to get the rest of the details. Dealabs reports that the release date for the Headphone 1 Pro could be later this month, on Sept. 29.
