Details and new images are starting to trickle out for the Amazing Spider-Man movie. Including a brand new synopsis, a collection of character bios, and some character-based wallpapers that give us new insight into Peter Parker's backstory.

Spoilers ahead...

Above is the first new Spider-Man image (we love the defaced Bugle billboard.) And here's the brand new synopsis:

Like most teenagers his age, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. In his journey to put the pieces of his past together he uncovers a secret that his father held… a secret that will ultimately shape his destiny as Spider-Man. This is the first in a series of movies that tells a different side of the Peter Parker story. On July 3rd, 2012, the untold story begins.

What is this secret his father held? Most folks suspect this has to do with the Ultimate Spider-Man comic book storyline in which we learned that his parents worked for SHIELD. It would tie the Marvel movie universe together quite nicely. Then again his parents were rumored to be spies in the regular Spidey books as well.

Moving on, also on the site were these character bios and character wallpapers, which we've assembled for you here. It's awesome that Captain Stacy gets a wallpaper.
