As much as we like the Wii, it’s no secret that its graphics ain’t exactly state of the art. So we were a little crestfallen when we heard Nintendo’s U.S. prez Reggie Fils-Amie tell GamePro that there are no plans for an HD-capable Wii. “83 percent of households do not have the means to produce the kinds of visuals that high definition devices require. Of course, we’re intensely interested in better technology, but sometimes our definition of the right technology is different from other people’s.

He also went on to say…
that Nintendo is like the Apple of gaming. “We both aggressively pursue innovation, and I think much of that innovation centers on software and the interface between the user and device, rather than pure horsepower.” It’s an interesting comparison, one that’s been made before and that I agree with.
