Earlier this week, PalmSource CEO David Nagel said that Sony Ericsson was talking with them about licensing the Palm operating system for use on its cellphones, which would be huge. But then on Thursday Sony Ericsson issued a press release denying that any discussions were taking place, and reiterating the company’s commitment to the Symbian OS. Given the warm reception that the Treo 600 has been getting, we’d be surprised if cellphone manufacturers weren’t considering licensing the Palm OS for their smartphones.
