OCZ announced their new line of SSDs for the first part of 2010, and it includes an external USB 3.0 SSD that can transfer at speeds up to 357 megabytes per second.

The portable drive is expected to come in 64, 128 and 256-gigabyte sizes, but pricing and availability are still unknown. [Engadget]

I can't really see the allure of this. External HDDs are all well and good, especially ones with faster transfer rates. An external SSD though? The main benefit of SSD's is the performance benefit they offer. Unless you commonly use an external drive for booting from you're missing a lot of the performance benefits where a comparable external HDD would cost a fraction of the price and offer significantly increased storage.
