Oh, if only this Doctor Who Paternoster Gang comic was real

Doctor Who's Victorian trio of Vastra, Jenny and Strax have had fans begging for a spinoff since they first appeared in 2011's A Good Man Goes To War - but while such an idea seems to remain an unlikely possibility, what if we could have the Paternosters starring in their own Comic adventures?

This delightful idea comes from the BBC themselves - it's from a framed print they've recently started selling:

I love how it looks like it wouldn't be out of place alongside the likes of Marvel's own Doctor Who comics back in the mid-80's.

It's not the first time the gang have appeared in comic book form - recently Doctor Who Magazine ran a two part story starring the trio called The Crystal Throne - but let's hope it's not the last. It'd be a great way to keep the characters appearing without them having to necessarily pop up in the show itself. Plus, who wouldn't read an adventure comic starring Victorian lesbians and a disgruntled potato-man with an itchy trigger finger?

I know I would.
