This morning we welcomed Michelangelo, one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (@TMNT) at The Met. Our celebrity guest came to see the work of an artist who happens to share his name. https://t.co/jUPJhto7Xr #MetMichelangelo pic.twitter.com/YS7T5xZv9a

The meeting of minds centuries in the making: Michelangelo, meet… err, Michelangelo.
New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art is currently hosting a months-long exhibition dedicated to the grand works of Michelangelo—Buonarroti, that is, rather than Michelangelo, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. That didn’t stop the Met from staging a little meet-cute between Mikey and the works of his artsy namesake, though. Turns out a Mutant Ninja Turtle can appreciate more about New York than just a good slice.
If you’re interested in following in the footsteps of the bipedal turtles before you, the Met’s Michelangeo: Divine Draftsman and Designer is currently running until February 12. Just watch out for any crafty Foot Clan members skulking about when you visit.
