It's not too often you find get a no-compromise laptop for under $600, but that's exactly what's on sale over on Groupon right now. They're offering a refurbished 13-Inch Asus Zenbook UX31A for $560. That's a tiny amount for a well-regarded ultrabook. Back in August, Kyle Wagner conducted an ultraportable battlemodo, and the 13" Zenbook Prime won among Windows ultrabooks, coming second only to the MacBook Air (at twice the price.) From the review:
Without question, the highpoint of the Zenbook Prime is its screen. It's gorgeous. It's the best screen on any laptop in this class. It's not just the 1080p resolution-it handles color better than any other panel, and its viewing angle is as good as Vizio's.
Like our review unit, the Zenbook Prime on sale over at Groupon packs a 1080p screen into a 13" laptop. Plus, it comes with a 128GB SSD and Windows 7. The primary difference between the version we reviewed and the version on sale at Groupon is that this laptop only has a Core i5 processor instead of a Core i7. That, and about $700. At under half the price of the Macbook Air, this is a stellar deal, and if you were looking for a laptop you should jump on it quickly. [Groupon]
