Iron Man 3

Grains of salt at the ready here, people, but some random tweeter claims to know people involved with The Avengers production, and that they say "the Avengers ship" - presumably the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier - is so expensive that it will show up in the next Iron Man movie as well. Which, to be fair, sounds like the sort of thing Marvel Studios might well end up doing, but still...I wouldn't put a lot of faith in this report just yet. [/Film]

The Amazing Spider-Man

Director Marc Webb explains the trailer's big POV shot, as well as reaffirming the movie's commitment to real, non-CGI stunts and effects:

"[There] are also moments we really wanted to embrace this experiential process of 3-D. The teaser is a hint at some of that...We shot and conceived of this film in 3-D, and I wanted there to be moments where you really feel and see the world through Spider-Man's eyes. I wanted to get that visceral feeling. In 3-D, I thought there was something about the experiential process, in a big theatrical environment, that was really special that I had seen before. I was like, 'If I'm going to do a movie in 3-D, I want to give the audience that experience.'...

We try very hard in the movie to make the stunt work grounded and real, and anything we could do live or practically, as they say, we did live or practically. We built this huge rig on Riverside Drive in Harlem, a traveling rig of hundreds of feet, and we slung our Spider-Man over cars, through traffic in a real way, which hadn't been done before. That was really exciting.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance

Directors Brian Taylor and Mark Neveldine explain why they shot in 2D and then converted to 3D:

Taylor: "For us, there's no point to it. [With the conversion process] you don't have to follow any rules when you shoot - you can shoot through dust, through shafts of light with little particles hanging in the air."
Neveldine: "We shoot on rollerblades, we hang out of helicopters, we hang out of cars. We can't do this with these giant 3-D cameras. Maybe one day, when they shrink ‘em down."
Taylor: "Software is always going to win. [3-D conversion software developers] can move at the speed of light. Next year, they'll be twice as good and half the price...Those guys are killing it now, so think of what it's going to be like a year from now."

Warner Bros. has reportedly hired Michael Ross to rewrite Jason Dean Hall's script, which involves a futuristic Robin Hood at war in a dystopian London. The Wachowskis were also working on a similar project, until they moved over to the Cloud Atlas adaptation. [Deadline]

Oh my God, we will hit that year very, very hard indeed. There's lot of decisions we're making that are about making all that possible. It'll be amazing."
