The Palm OS-packing Treo 700p is now available from Verizon Wireless, where the cost of entry is $499 with a $100 rebate. Nobody ever said all this techno-goodness was going to be cheap, buster, so maybe that $399 total isn’t so bad in the grand scheme of things.
But then there’s the plan you have to pay for every month if you want to actually use the latest smartphone, where the lowest tariff is $79.99 a month, and that’s for those who don’t have a lot of talking to do, giving you just 450 minutes per month but unlimited EVDO data usage. Looks like Verizon’s sweetening the deal with free shipping and no activation fee, and if you don’t like the phone once you get it, well, take it back before 15 days for a full refund.
