The 1024×600, 5.6-inch Words Gear book reader from Panasonic is going head-to-head against Sony’s just released Reader, for your on-the-go literary entertainment time. Unfortunately, it’s too soon to tell which one of these will win.

The Words Gear has a six-hour battery life, an e-Sensor to control the device with a finger, and a price of around $340. It should be released sometime later this year, but most likely won’t be available outside of Japan.
