Pepper Pad, the other not-a-pda-but-not-yet-a-PC PC is coming to spoil the UMPC’s thunder with the Pepper Pad 3. Running the Linux 2.6 kernel, the PP3 has a 7″ 800×480 screen, a 20 GB hard disk, split QWERTY keypad, 802.11 b/g, speakers, USB, and a built-in webcam. It’s used mostly for web browsing (like surfing the Gizmodo site from CES), but you can use it for email, IMing, and audio/video playback. Since this runs the Linux kernel, you’ll be able to find loads of apps from the community to run on it.
