Postagram for iPhone

Instagram has helped foster an impressive community of iPhone photographers, but it's a community whose body of work is almost entirely digital. Which is a shame! Thankfully, Postagram will let you send real, printed postcards of your Instagram masterpieces for a buck a pop.

What is it?

Postagram, Free, iPhone.
Instagram's instant gratification photography is like Polaroid's, in a way, but it leaves users with shots that can be posted to Facebook walls instead of bedroom ones. Postagram helps those who want to share their photographs the old fashioned way: just login to your Instagram account, pick a photograph, and Postagram will send it as a personalized postcard to a recipient of your choosing. The shots themselves are printed at 300dpi on thick photo postcards, and the photos themselves can be popped out of the postcard frame as a 2.5" x 2.5" print.

You can add a 140 character message if you so choose, accompanied by your Instagram account photo, and each $1 postcard reportedly takes a standard 2 to 5 days to arrive in the U.S. (a bit longer elsewhere).

Who's it good for?

Lovers of Instagram; lovers of postcards; lovers of Polaroid; iPhone photographers who want to make sure they'll still have their favorite shots around if they accidentally drop their phone in the toilet.

Why's it better than alternatives?

Just like Instagram, it's straightforward and doesn't distract with any unnecessary features. Just pick your photo, create an account, and send away.

How could it be even better?

Postcards are nice, but there's surely just as much of a market for an app that's as well-designed and simple as this for sending Instagram prints to yourself. It'd be nice to have an option to skip the Postcard hoopla and just select say 10 of my favorite prints for myself.
