If you had the power to stop time for everyone except yourself, what would you do? If you answered, “Help my dorky friend win a turntablism contest at a really lame rave,” then you and Jonathan “Riker” Frakes are two great minds who think alike. This scene from the Frakes-directed Clockstoppers is possibly the creepiest moment in scifi history. Just the part where they’re like, “Let’s give our puppet friend some attitude” gives me chills. It’s the only memorable moment from Clockstoppers, which manages to make one of the coolest wish-fulfillment fantasies so boring, you feel time has ground to a halt.
