Next week marks the two-episode premiere of VisionQuest, concluding the saga that began with WandaVision. Some have probably already caught up, but for those who haven’t, Marvel’s got you covered in several ways.
Over the weekend, the first three WandaVision episodes were made free on YouTube. Those episodes—”Filmed Before a Live Studio Audience,” “Don’t Touch That Dial,” and “Now in Color”—are key to establishing this trilogy’s building blocks. Along with setting up Wanda and Vision’s personal journeys, they introduce key characters like Monica Rambeau, Agatha Harkness, and the couple’s babies, Billy and Tommy.
Currently, “Studio” and “Color” have the most views at 523,000 and 347,000 respectively. That generally lines up with how the episodes were received back in 2021; “Dial” was critiqued for not offering much on the show’s larger mysteries, whereas “Color” was praised for its narrative momentum and calling back to Avengers: Age of Ultron, which VisionQuest is also doing by actually featuring Ultron. Full circle.
Alternatively, if you don’t have the time to watch WandaVision and Agatha All Along in the next week, Marvel has a shorter video focused specifically on Vision. Running at just over a minute, it’s a quick refresh going through the android’s major beats, from his birth by Ultron and Thor to meeting Wanda and giving his white counterpart freedom.
Whichever way you decide to get caught up, VisionQuest begins October 14 on Disney+. And even if you don’t go back to the earlier material, at least one of the two episodes will get you up to speed in some fashion.
