Your favorite pop culture characters already feel like family, so why not display them as such? That always felt like the inspiration behind Mike Mitchell’s portrait series, which kicked off years ago with Mondo. Mitchell used his considerable artistic skills to bring your favorite characters to life with side-profile portraits that demanded to be put on your wall. That continued when he did Marvel characters, then Star Wars characters, and while there was a bit of a break, his Star Wars portraits are now back.

Yes, Mitchell has teamed up with Mutant to restart his Star Wars portrait series. It begins with two new portraits, Jedi Master Luke and Grogu, both of which go on sale at noon EST on August 20 at madebymutant.com. Here they are.

Those are the regular versions, each of which is a timed edition available from noon EST Thursday through 1 p.m. EST on Monday, August 24. Jedi Master Luke is a 12 x 16 inch giclee that costs $85, and Grogu is an 8 x 10 inch giclee that costs $70. Mutant will print as many as it sells in that time.

“Mike’s art looms large over contemporary and pop culture art. It’s a privilege to return to these iconic characters through his vision,” Mutant co-founder Eric Garza said. “We’re picking it up with Jedi Master Luke, having fulfilled his true destiny, and everyone’s favorite Force-sensitive, Mandalorian foundling, Grogu. We’re also excited to introduce limited edition variants into the series, including Printing Error variants for both Jedi Master Luke and Grogu.”

Yup, you read that right. There are also some limited edition “Printing Error” variants, which will be a permanent part of the series moving forward. Here are those as well.

Both the Jedi Master Luke and Grogu variants are in editions of 150 and cost $110 and $90, respectively.

“I’m thrilled to revisit the Star Wars portrait series with my old friends at Mutant,” Mitchell said. “I look forward to creating a slew of new portraits, old and new and maybe even a little in between.”

Again, you read that right. More Star Wars portraits are coming, adding to an already impressive selection. Which ones are you looking forward to? (*cough* Hoth Han, Han in Carbonite *cough*) Head to madebymutant.com to snag them.
