Russian Antivirus Tycoon’s Son Kidnapped

Yevgeny Kaspersky, head of mega-antivirus firm Kaspersky Labs, probably has a lot of enemies in Russia—a country where cybercrime rakes in the rubles. So it’s not entirely surprisingly that Yevgeny’s son has been kidnapped and held for ransom.

Right now, his captors are demanding $4.3 million for the missing 20 year old, who’s been missing for two days as police search in vain. While this might just be a gang figuring they can ransom off a rich guy’s son, I’ll bet my most virus-laden .RAR file this has something to do with organized crime. [BBC via Reddit]
