Ryan Reynold’s is in talks to star in Life, a thriller about a mission to Mars that stumbles upon intelligent aliens. Terrifying hijinks ensue, I bet.
The part would be like a giant reunion for Reynolds. Deadpool writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese are also scripting Life. Which is interesting, since their backgrounds are almost entirely in comedy and there’s no indication that Life is one. It would also reunite Reynolds with director Daniel Espinosa, whom he worked with in Safe House.
If the deal goes through, Reynolds would be starring opposite Rebecca Ferguson (Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation) when he inadvertently meets aliens. And Life is different from Deadpool—which is likely to define Reynolds for a while—but also has enough familiar players to be a good a fit for him.
