Sony is making Winter’s Knight, a dark reworking of Santa Claus’ origin story, where it turns out Santa was a Viking.Deadline is reporting that Kon-Tiki producers Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg are behind the project, and that there was apparently a bidding war for this hot script by Ben Lustig and Jake Thornton. We’re pretty glad Sony got the Christmas movie, since Arthur Christmas made us cry — at least they know all about the holiday spirit and all that good stuff, but let’s hope Santa works as a Viking. In other news, Fox News should be pretty happy.
