The first clip from Interstellar shows us the future Earth that Christopher Nolan has created. It’s one in which the idea of space travel is so thoroughly discouraged that children are taught that we never went to the moon.
So this is an interesting vision of the future. The federal curriculum teaches that the Apollo missions were faked in order to bankrupt the Soviet Union, and Matthew McConaughey’s character, Cooper, is pretty surprised to learn that this is the “truth.” Well, the kids growing up in this world are going to be in for quite a shock.
Interstellar hits North American theaters on November 5th and UK theaters on November 7th.
