Science fiction has been huge this year with books like Aurora by Kim Stanley Robinson and movies like The Martian. NPR takes a look at the new crop of science fiction stories that shoot for realism.
Meh. Both Aurora and Seveneves are depressing from what I’ve read on Wikipedia. I loved The Martian, mostly for the joyful geekiness.
Seriously, where is the sci-fi that makes you close the book and go “hum” and actually think. Grumble, grumble... “and get off my lawn you darn kids”... grumble, grumble.
