Dr. Barbara Sherwood Lollar drank water from the oldest undisturbed water cache ever—1.5 billion years old. She said to the LA Times that ‘it tastes terrible […] You would definitely not want to drink this stuff.’ It’s not surprising, knowing it’s ‘viscous and turns kind of orangey’ when exposed to air.
